Dr. Hanaa Al-Banna
Dr. Hanaa Al-Banna is a specialist in SDGs, Corporate Social Responsibility, and sustainability. She holds positions as Lecturer and Module Leader at Northumbria University London, CSR Accreditation MENA Executive Director, and Adjunct Lecturer at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
Dr. Al-Banna earned a PhD in Marketing, Social Media, and Public Relations from Cardiff Metropolitan University, a Professional Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and a Master’s degree in Marketing.
She serves as an Executive Committee Member of the United Nations-funded program “Alliance of NGOs and CSOs for South-South Cooperation,” where she empowers organisations in the Global South by fostering the exchange of knowledge, resources, skills, and innovative ideas to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Recognised for her contributions, Dr. Al-Banna received the International CSR Excellence Award at the International Annual Summit of Leading CSR Institutions and was listed among the 100 most influential people in the MENA regionin 2020 and 2021. She has over 23 years of experience in international development, collaborating with non-profits, international development entities, and the private sector. Her expertise spans strategic management, entrepreneurship, innovation, corporate communications, CSR, sustainability, ESG, and SDGs. Her early career traversed marketing, public relations, cross-cultural communication, and women’s leadership.
Dr. Al-Banna also serves as a Board Member for CSR Accreditation and the Excellence and Entrepreneurship Center at Al al-Bayt University, Jordan. She has been a judge for several high-profile awards, including the King Abdullah Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement, the International CSR Excellence Awards, the NEOM Social Responsibility Award, and the Green Apple Awards, reflecting her authority in recognising and promoting exemplary environmental, social, and governance performance.
As Group Director for the MENA Region at the London Diplomatic Association, she drives strategy for a division focused on delivering tailored engagements that foster purposeful collaboration among leaders. In this capacity, she personally travels to strengthen diplomatic and business relationships.
