B2B Cocktail Reception at Poets House


The East of England Business Partnership (EEBP) returned to Poets House for a second B2B Cocktail Reception, co hosted with Christine Gallop the General Manager of Poets House. Lord Pestano was very pleased to announce the newly launched subsidiary of the LDA, Wanderlux, https://wanderlux.co.uk/ a bespoke by invitation travel service. The LDA introduced Rebecca Green the CEO of Wanderlux as our newly appointed member of the International Advisory Board for both the LDA and the EEBP.

Our Special guest of honour was His Excellency Professor Oluwafemi Esan  who gave a humorous and informative presentation on how he was appointed as Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland by the Sovereign King of Hawaii.

His Excellency is also the founder of the El-Roi London University which delivers leadership programmes. El-Roi London University is the higher education academy of the El-Roi London Academy, a private university that received degree-awarding powers from the Kingdom of Hawaii, Royal Accreditation Commission (KOHRAC), Honolulu, the USA. https://elroilondonacademy.org/

Also a newly appointed Director, Kelly Stevenson, Group Director of Wines, Spirits, and Beverages for the LDA and the EEBP, has had a very successful career in the Drinks industry. Kelly was a former Global Wine & Beverage Manager at British Airways, now International Buyer & Consultant. Kelly brings her extensive knowledge to the LDA where global brands can have a presence in the form of sponsorship at our many events and receptions. Guests had a the pleasure of drinking the LDAs own cocktail, and sampled wines from the following brands, the wineflyer Jet Vine, Kellys consultancy, Jukes, Cinch Drinks Whispering Angel Golden Egg, was used to make the LDA Cocktail, and Noughty, a non alcoholic wine.

Thomas Perry, newly appointed to the role of Deputy Group Head of Operations, experienced his first EEBP B2B Cocktail Reception. Tom`s new role involves fostering robust relationships with business partners and diplomats from across the globe, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve shared objectives.

Stuart Maclean CFO of Brother UK one of LDA`s, Sponsors and Business Partners were in attendance with two other members of the Brother team, James Beadle and Fraser Whitehead The Brother Group’s strengths are its diverse proprietary technologies and a global network. Through products and services in a wide range of fields, the Brother Group supports improvements in productivity and creativity for all customers around the world.

Nicola Ayrton, Museum Director at the Household Cavalry Museum, gave a great insight into Museum and of one of the most highly recognised regiments in the world. The LDA were instrumental in assisting in the official launch of the Household Cavalry Museum many years ago. It was really good for the LDA to re-establish our relationship with the museum.

Prize Sponsors

There were many fabulous gifts offered in the prize draw. Poets House gave an afternoon tea for 2. Olivia Disley- Stevens National Sales Manager for the Jockey Club, gave a VIP champagne Day at Newmarket Races. Adina Scutaru MD of Classy VIP Chauffeurs gave a half day champagne chauffeur experience in London, Alex Fellows Director and Founder at Sandbanks Jets gave £1,000 towards a helicopter or private jet charter, Nicola Ayrton gave museum cufflinks and a silk scarf to the winner, and Jamie Morrison the Chairman of The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, gave 6 complimentary passes to The Prince of Wales Trophy, one of the most prestigious events and tournaments on the Polo Calendar. Kelly Stevenson of Jet Vine, gave a jeroboam of wine, sponsored by Whispering Angel

The champagne wine and cocktails flowed throughout the evening, and guests had the opportunity of meeting businesses from a cross section of the business and diplomatic community and also engaged with two members of the Global Ambassadors and High Commissioners Club His Excellency Professor Oluwafemi Esan  and H.E Hon. Sir Don Lahoucine Goghrod Guest were able to take away a souvenir brochure of the evening sponsored by Peter Bryant, Director of Gold Design Print, the LDA`s official print and design company.
